PRO DOWNHILL SERIES
RULES & REGULATIONS:
SERIES SANCTIONING:
- USA Cycling: Official National Downhill Series
- UCI: (Class 2/Venue specific)
- Fox US Open is USA Cycling sanctioned only
+ Pro/Elite categories will follow UCI downhill regulations
+ All amateur categories will follow USA Cycling regulations (including rules for coaching)
+ All racer license upgrades or issues must be directed to USA Cycling or UCI
TRACK INFO:
IMPORTANT - ALL CATEGORIES WILL RACE THE SAME TRACK
The race track will be an advanced track, HOWEVER there will be alternative lines and “go-arounds” for every section of the track. No features will be mandatory for Cat 2/3 racers. Race organizers may close certain features to specific classes. PLEASE RIDE WITHIN YOUR LIMITS
RACER INFO
- Entry fee includes lift access for track walk (no bike), practice & competition days (Fri-Sun)
- Racing Age is your age as of 12/31/2024
- IMPORTANT - Athletes under 18 yrs-old will need parental signature on all waivers.
- Full-Face helmets ARE REQUIRED. Knee/elbow pads, gloves, back pads, etc are strongly encouraged and may become mandatory at Pro Downhill Series' discretion.
- Valid lift ticket and number plate required to gain access to the race course.
- Competitors may only practice during class-specific practice sessions.
- Athletes missing their posted start time will be disqualified.
Downhill seeding/qualifying will run as follows:
- PRO CLASS racers will take seeding runs on Saturday OR must qualify if there are more than 80 entrants in the class. *TOP 60 IN QUALIFYING WILL MAKE THE CUT FOR FINALS ON SUNDAY.
- *Note - exceptions do apply for Top 60 Elite UCI athletes and series leaders. Race Organizers reserve the right to adjust or remove qualifying requirements for the entire field.
- *Note - Pro/Elite athletes will follow the "must break the beam" rule for seeding/qualifying.
- All CAT 1 Categories will take seeding runs on Saturday. If an athlete is not present, they will be seeded at the back of the category.
Start Order:
- Saturday start order will run as follows: All Cat 1 classes, Cat 1 17/18, Pro last
- Sunday start order will run as follows: All Cat 2/3 classes, All Cat 1 classes, Cat 1 17/18, Pro last
Categories and Groupings:
- Fields may be combined if there are not enough racers entered in a specific class. Additionally, large fields may be broken into smaller categories if deemed necessary by race organizers.
- Practice will be broken into three groups tentatively (subject to change based on final registration numbers):
- Group A - Mens & Womens Pro Classes, Cat 1 Men/Wmn 17-18
- Group B - Cat 1 Categories (except Cat 1 Men/Wmn 17-18)
- Group C - Cat 2/3 Categories

SR SUNTOUR HOLESHOT AWARD:
- $500 Awarded to the fastest male and female times in the first split section
- All categories are eligible
- Winners must have a complete race run
- In the event of a tie, the prize will be spilt
